Ultrafast Optics Textbook

We (Rick Trebino and Jeff Squier) are currently working on (editing) an Ultrafast Optics textbook. It will encompass the entire field of ultrafast optics, and it will always be a free download from this page. Eventually, you will be able to purchase a copy in the form of a two- (or three-) volume book. It will be inexpensive (~$50 per ~500-page volume), and we and the chapter authors will continually update it (probably annually) to keep it current.

It will be published using an unconventional publisher: at the moment, we're planning on using Trafford Publishing, which uses "On Demand" publishing. This allows them to allow us to modify it anytime we'd like - we just send them a new .pdf file for a given chapter, and that's that. Also, Power Point slides will accompany the book (see the Lectures page of this site). We're just getting going, but please let us know what you think of the book so far; feedback is always welcome. And if you'd like to contribute in some way, also let us know (rick.trebino@physics.gatech.edu or jsquier@mines.edu ).

Finally, no one will ever profit financially from the sale of this book; if ever some money accumulates, we will use it to help fund a graduate student here at Georgia Tech.
